Burbank Elementary School was built in 1939 by the WPA. It was the only WPA school built by the city of Modesto. It began as a small school with only two rooms and has been built up from there.

This Renaissance Revival style post office, now known locally as “El Viejo,” was built during the height of the Great Depression by the WPA.
